In IT field if you are doing software based services then you wouldn't need a lot of other application software for example if you developing websites for others the only you will need to buy would be domain and other stuffs like development tools are free and open-source, but you will need to buy own server someday.

If you are doing IoT stuff then you need to spend some money on building things like arduino, sensors etc.

If you providing other games services you would need to buy things for graphics creation, assets and many other things.
