Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Ivy, Simon and Kayden share a packet of sweets in the ratio of 3 : 5 : 8. The total number of sweets obtained by Kayden is 96

To find :-

i) How many sweets are obtained by Simon?

ii) Find the total number of sweets ?

Solution :-

Given that

The ratio of the shares of the sweets of Ivy, Simon and Kayden = 3:5:8

Let they be 3X , 5X and 8X

Let the number of sweets obtained by Ivy = 3X

Let the number of sweets obtained by Simon

= 5X

Let the number of sweets obtained by Kayden

= 8X

According to the given problem

The total number of sweets obtained by Kayden is 96

=> 8X = 96

=> X = 96/8

=> X = 12

Therefore, X = 12

Number of sweets obtained by Ivy = 3X

=> 3(12)

=> 36

Number of sweets obtained by Simon = 5X

=> 5(12)

=> 60

Total number of sweets

=> 36+60+96

=> 192

Answer:-

I) Total number of sweets obtained by Simon = 60

ii) Total number of all sweets = 192
