Dnyaneshwar was a Marathi saint who lived in the 13th century.

He was a saint, a scholar, a poet, and a philosopher. He lived for only 21 years, and within this time he composed the Dnyaneshwari which is a commentary of the Bhagawat Gita. He composed it in the year 1290 at the age of 16 which turned to be the principal text for the varkari sect.
