In 1960, operon term was first proposed by the French Academy of Science printed in a short paper. Operon was earlier thought to b exist in prokrayotes only but after further discovery in 1990 it found in eukaryotes as well. Expression of eukaryotic operons  results into monocistronic mRNAs and prokaryotic operons produces polycistronic mRNAs.

According to operon's theory in genetics, an operon is a functional DNA unit comprising a cluster of genes under the influence of a single promoter. These genes are further undergo transcription and translation to produces mRNA and protein respectively, which ar essentials fo rorganisms.  As a result, the genes in the operon are either expressed together, or not at all.

Hence, it proves operon is the origin of organism.
