Yes, Jack's handling of the end of the story where he supports the decision of Robert Skunk's mommy projects him in a poor light as a father. Jack's little daughter shows enough courage to express her dislike about what Roger Skunk's mother did. But Jack seemed to find no fault with the deed of the mother as he knew within in subconscious mind that he was defending his won mother to her. Even though he knew what the mother did was wrong, his words showed the lack of courage to admit it. Naturally, as a father Jack cannot be an inspiring character.
