Jack picked a leave from a plant that was kept in dark for 3 to 4 days and did the starch test on it. The leaf did not turn blue black after the test. why?

The leaf would only turn blue if it had photosynthesis but jack kept it in a dark room which prevented photosynthesis thus when he did the starch test the leaf did not have starch for the iodine to turn blue black. I think this would help you.
