Answer:

Number friends at Jack's party = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of chocolates given by Jack's mother = 50

Let number friends at Jack's party = x

according to the problem given,

Jack gave 3 chocolates to each of his friends and still had 2 chocolates left with him.

3x + 2 = 50

=> 3x = 50 - 2

=> 3x = 48

Divide each term by 3 , we get

=> x = 16

Therefore,

number friends at Jack's party = x = 16
