someone with no filmi connections, it is not easy to find a foothold in Bollywood. Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently one of the most successful actresses in the industry, revealed that she put her acting dreams on the backburner for a while as she thought they might be "too far-fetched".
Though she always knew where she wanted to be, she did not know how to go about it. "I never knew how I was going to achieve what I wanted to, because I never had any role model to follow. I was my own role model and I knew my path. I knew my journey would be very different," she told a leading daily.
Jacqueline, who was a reporter in Sri Lanka before she made her big screen debut in Sujoy Ghosh's Aladin, said that she always wanted to be in front of the camera. "I wanted to be an actress ever since I was a kid. I used to watch a lot of movies but as I got older, I realised that maybe it was too far-fetched and changed gears to study mass media communications," she said.
"But if you really want something, then that becomes your destiny. Imagine, I came to India in order to become an actress, and to fulfill my dreams," she added.
On the work front, Jacqueline will be seen next in Tarun Mansukhani's Drive, in which she will be paired opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 28 this year.
