Jada has a new puppy that weighs 8 pounds. The vet says that the puppy is now at about 20% of its adult weight. What will be the adult weight of the puppy?

8 pounds is 20% of an adult's weight

therefore 20×5 is 100

100% will be 8 pounds × 5 = 40 pounds

therefore the adult weight of the puppy will be 40 pounds
