Some time back, Delhi was hit by a water crisis when it had to shut down three treatment plants because of the highly contaminated supply from Haryana. There was another crisis, when the Jat protesters damaged the canal that brings 400 million gallons of water from Haryana everyday. Many parts of Delhi had to go without water.
            Many people woke up at 7.00 o'clock as usual. They went to the sink to brush their teeth. They opened the tap, turned it around once, twice and thrice. They were still sleepy and did not realize that there was no water supply. When they realized this it was too late because their mouth was already full of foamy toothpaste. They could not shout or call anyone for help. They felt so helpless.
            Many students had to go to school without a bath. The whole day seemed to be so dull. Drinking water was scarce. They had to wash their hands after meals with very little water.
            The children did not go out to play in the evening as they were already sweating and did not want to become more dirty.
            That day they realized the value of water and eagerly waited for the water supply to be resumend. They regretted that they had wasted water so often.                         Not only this we must help in water management, use our water resources intelligently and save water for the future. Without water we will not have water to drink, be able to do our daily chores, grow the crops, run machines or get hydro power. Life will come to a standstill. So in order to preserve life we must preserve water.
