Jalaja’s prize money = ₹x
Kamala’s prize money = ₹2x
Linda’s prize money = ₹(2x - 230)

According to the question,
₹(x + 2x + 2x - 230) = ₹1000
= ₹(5x - 230) = ₹1000
= ₹5x = ₹(1000 + 230)
= ₹5x = ₹1230
= ₹x = ₹(1230/5) = ₹246 (answer)

Hope it helps you.....

Given ,

Total amount won = ₹1000

Jalaja's share = ₹x

Kamala's share = twice of jalaja

Linda's share = ₹230 less than kamala

To Find :-

Jalaja's share

Solution :-

★Jalaja's share is ₹x

and Kamala's share is twice that of jalaja

therefore,

★ kamala's share = 2 × x = 2x

★ Linda's share = ₹230 less than Kamala's share

= 2x - 230

Total share = x + 2x + 2x - 230

But also given that total share is ₹ 1000

According to question,

x + 2x + 2x - 230 = 1000

=> 5x = 1000 + 230

=> 5x = 1230

=>\: x\: =\: {\dfrac{1230}{5}}

=> x = 246

Therefore, Jalaja's share is ₹ 246
