On the morning of Baishakhi, many people had gathered in the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. They were protesting peacefully against the arrest of two prominent leaders of Congress- Satya Pal and Saiffudin Kitchlew. Suddenly General Dyer closed the narrow entry and openly fired at the gathered masses. They continuously fired at the unarmed people till the ammunition exhausted. Many people lost their life......
After the shoot, curfew was put in the state. The dead bodies laid open in the field and the dogs had a feast....... This was really a shameful act of British that stunned the whole country.
