Answer:

let be present age of jame = X yr

present age of jame father = 3X

After 10 yr,

age of jame = X + 10

age of jame father = 3X + 10

A/q

2( X+10) = 3X + 10

2X +20 =3X + 10

2X -3X = 10 -20

- X = - 10

X = 10

present age of james = 10 yr

present age of james father =30 yr

Answer:

Let son's age be = x

Let father's age be = y

y = 3x ( currently father is 3 times as old as his son )

y + 10 = 2 (x + 10 )

3x + 10 = 2x + 20

subtract 20 and 2x from both sides

x = 10

y = 3x

y = 30
