Answer:

Let Jane's sister age be X

So, jane age be X+6

after 10 year,

sister age =X+10

Jane age=X+6+10=X+16

ATQ,

=X+10+X+16=50

=2X+26=50

=2X=50-26

=2X=24

=X=12

SO SISTER'S PRESENT AGE IS 12

AND JANE'S PRESENT AGE IS 12+6=18

Given:

Jane is 6 years older than her younger sister. After 10 years, the sum of their ages will be 50 years.

To find:

The present age of Jane and her younger sister.

Solution:

Let the present age of Jane's younger sister be x years.

So,

the present age of Jane = x + 6 years

After 10 years,

The age of Jane's younger sister = x + 10 years

The age of Jane = x + 6 + 10 = x + 16 years

Now,

according to the question,

after 10 years,

Jane's younger sister's age + Jane's age = 50 years

So,

x + 10 + x + 16 = 50

On solving the above, we get

2x + 26 = 50

2x = 24

x = 12 \: years

Which is the present age of Jane's younger sister.

So, the present age of Jane

= 12 + 6 = 18 years.

Hence, the present age of Jane and her younger sister is 18 years and 12 years respectively.
