Question in English : If cos θ =  \frac{15}{17} , then find sin θ.

Solution :

We know that,

 \tt{sin {}^{2} \theta + cos {}^{2} \theta = 1}

 \tt{sin {}^{2}  \theta + ( \frac{15}{17})  {}^{2}  = 1}

 \tt{sin {}^{2}  \theta = 1 -  \frac{225}{289}}

 \tt{sin {}^{2}  \theta =  \frac{289 - 225}{289}}

 \tt{sin {}^{2}  \theta =  \frac{64}{289}}

 \tt{sin \theta =  \sqrt{ \frac{64}{289}} }

 \tt{sin \theta =  \frac{8}{17}}

This is the answer.
