Jaskarn cleaned Magnesium Ribbon with sandpaper (3) To remove the layer of Magnesium oxide.

Why is cleaning with sandpaper important?

  • Magnesium is a profoundly responsive metal.
  • When presented to air numerous metals will gradually respond with oxygen in the environment to frame metal oxides and magnesium is one of those metals.
  • With magnesium, the oxide layer frames a white covering outwardly of the metal that will dial back or obstruct the consuming process.
  • The strips ought to be sanded with fine sandpaper, in this way, to eliminate the layer.
