Jatin wants to cover the floor of a room 3 m wide and 4 m long by squared
tiles. If each square tile is of side 0.5 m, then find the number of tiles required
to cover the floor of the room. And find the total cost if a tile cost is 2.5Rs (5)
how did 1200/25 come in the last second step to find the answer

Answer:
Cost of 48 tiles is Rs. 120
Explanation:
Length of room = 4m
Breadth of room = 3m
Area of room = l*b = 4*3 = 12m^2
Side of square tile = 0.5m
Area of square tile = s^2 = 0.5*0.5 = 0.25 m^2
Area of room = Area of tile * Number of tiles
Number of tiles = Area of room/Area of 1 tile = 12/0.25
= 1200/25 ( when we remove the decimal from the 0.25 so 100 is multiplied in the numerator )
= 48 tiles
Cost of 1 tile = Rs. 2.5
Cost of 48 tiles = Rs. 2.5*48 = Rs. 120
Therefore , Cost of 48 tiles is Rs. 120
