Javid took 8 pieces and Sameena took 2 pieces and Munish took 6 pieces

1/3 of the total remained

Solution:

Total = 24 pieces

Javid ate 2/6 of the cake

Therefore,

Javid = \frac{2}{6} \times 24\\\\Javid = 8

Sameena ate 1/12 of the cake

Sameena = \frac{1}{12} \times 24\\\\Sameena =  2

munish ate 1/4 of the cake

Munish = \frac{1}{4} \times 24\\\\Munish = 6

Total Number of Pieces Consumed = 8 + 2 + 6 = 16

Left = 24 - 16 = 8

Thus, fraction of the total remained is:

\frac{8}{24} = \frac{1}{3}

Thus 1/3 of the total remained
