Dams are called the multipurpose projects.
The multipurpose project called"Temples of modern India" because these multipurpose projects are the main source of power generation they generate electricity . Electricity is the backbone of industry and agriculture.
Dams control the floods because water can be stored in dams. These projects have converted many rivers of sorrows into rivers of boon.
These multipurpose projects are the main source of irrigation for our country. They irrigate the fields during the dry weather. Many perennial canals have been made to irrigate dry areas.
