Question:

Jaya, Seema and Rekha invesyed Rs. 8,40,000 in the proportion 3:4:7. Then find Rekha's actual share in the capital. They made 12% profit. How much profit each of them made?

Required Answer:-

Given:-

  • Jaya, Seema and Rekha invesyed Rs.8,40,000
  • The proportion was 3:4:7
  • They made 12% profit.

To Find:-

  • Rekha's actual share in the capital.
  • The profit of each of them.

Solution:-

  • Jaya, Seema and Rekha invested Rs.840000
  • In proportion each invested=3:4:7

Sum of the proportion = 3+4+7=14

Now,

Rekha invested= Rs. (7/14×840000) = Rs. 420000

Therefore, Rekha's actual share is Rs. 420000

Again,

We were given that they made 12% profit.

Jaya invested=Rs.(3/14×840000) = Rs.180000

Seema invested=Rs.(4/14×840000) = Rs.240000

Hence,

Jaya makes profit of:-

=> Rs. (12/100×180000)

=> Rs. (12×1800)

=> Rs. 21600

Similarly:-

Seema makes profit of::

=> Rs. (12/100×240000)

=> Rs.(12×2400)

=> Rs.28800

And,

Rekha makes profit of:-

=> Rs.(12/100×420000)

=> Rs. (12×4200)

=> Rs.50400

Final Answers:-

  • Rekha's actual share is Rs. 420000
  • Jaya's profit is Rs. 21600
  • Seema's profit is Rs.28800
  • Rekha's profit is Rs.50400
