jayshankar Prasad was born on 30 January 1889 in Benares. He was a novlist, playwright and poet. He was a famed figure in modern Hindi literature as well as Hindi theatre.

Prasad started writing poetry with the pen of 'kaladhar'. Later on Prasad prologated 'chhayavad'.
