The price of TV before GST was added.

Solution:

Let the price of TV before GST was added is x

GST is 10% = 10x/100

=> x + 10x/100 =22000

=> (100x+10x)/100 =22000

=> 110x/100 = 22000

=> 110x = 2200000

=> x = 2200000/110

=> x = 20000

Hence, the price of the TV before GST was added is Rs 20000

To Find :-

• Price of the T.V. before GST was added = ?

Calculation :-

Suppose,

• The price of the T.V. before GST was added = Rs. x

According to question,

• Rs. x + 10% of Rs. x = Rs. 22000

Now,

x + 10% of x = 22000

⟹ x + (10/100 × x) = 22000

⟹ x + 10x/100 = 22000

⟹ (100x + 10x)/100 = 22000

⟹ 110x/100 = 22000

⟹ 110x = 22000 × 100

⟹ 110x = 2200000

⟹ x = 2200000/110

∴ x = 20000

• Hence, the price of the T.V. before GST was added, x = Rs. 20000.
