solution : This is based on concept of IUPAC nomenclature.

we prefer numbering from carboxyl group. and longest chain such that,

• in 2nd position hydroxyl group should be attached.
• 4th position methyl group should be attached.
• 3rd position alkene and alkyl groups should be appeared.
• 5th position also alkyl group should be appeared.

All the above conditions only satisfied when we choose option (D) as a compound of given IUPAC name.
