In the reaction scheme shown below Q, R and S are the major products.

we have to check the correct option/options

solution : first reaction is a example of Friedel-Crafts acylation in which acyl group is attached to aromatic compounds.

so reaction is shown in figure.

now The given compound Q is a ketone and we know, the reaction of aldehydes and ketones with zinc amalgam (Zn/Hg alloy) in concentrated hydrochloric acid, reduces the aldehyde or ketone to a hydrocarbon.

now after that we reacts it with H3PO4 which reduces OH group from it. this is product R.

now R in the presence of Ch3MgBr /H+/H2O change into alcohol which is heated in H2SO4 solution gives alkene product S as shown in figure.

Therefore correct options are (B) and (D)
