Answer:

Answer: 1 m/s^2

How To: Obviously there are a few steps to this.

Compute the force of the first body

Compute the acceleration on the second body based on the force of the first.

Newton's second law formula (F = m•a) shows the relationship between mass, acceleration and force. So body one is being acted on by a force equal to 0.5 m/s^2 * 3 kg = 1.5 Newtons.

Now using the same formula but solved for acceleration. The formula for acceleration based on force and mass is:

a = F / m

where:

a is the constant acceleration

F is the force

m is the mass

So, 1.5 Newtons divided by 1.5 kg equals 1 meter per sec.

Answer:

F = m1a1 = m2a2 =m3a

3a1=6a2=9a

then a = 6a2/9 or 3a1/9 answer.
