For a complex z=a+bi, the following four numbers are

  • a+bi
  • a-bi (against x axis)
  • -a-bi (against origin)
  • -a+bi (against y axis)

Think outside the box

But it can be taken as parallel movements of a vertice (x, y).

Now, these four vertices definitely form a square if x=y. So, let us take one length, take (x, y) and (x, -y).

We get y=2, so we have x=y=2.

|z| can be taken as length of (2, 2) from the origin. So, |z| becomes 2√2.
