Jeff Bezos owns 11% of Amazon. In theory, if I manage to buy 12% of the shares, will that automatically make me the new owner of Amazon?

Answer:

No, you cannot be the owner.

Explanation:

He is an owner of Amazon, as is anyone who own shares of Amazon stock. Amazon has many owners, possibly millions of them.

At 16%, Jeff Bezos is a major shareholder, and I expect the largest one - if someone had more shares, I think we’d know about that person.

There are very few large corporations that are owned 100%, or even close to 100%, by someone. The whole reason for making a corporation public is so you can sell shares to raise funds.

Answer:

No. But you can appoint two board members in the board of Amazon and make yourself CEO with the help of other borad members.

All the share holders of the Company hold the ownership of Amazon. A single person cannot.

Hope it helps ^_^
