Jeff hiked for 2 hours and traveled 5 miles. If he continues at the same pace, which equation will show the relationship between the time, t, in hours he hikes to distance, d, in miles? Will the graph be continuous or discrete? d = 0.4t, discrete

Speed = distance / time

Distance = 5 miles

Time = 2 hrs

Speed = 5/2 = 2.5 miles per hour

Every hour he covers 2.5 miles

The relationship between distance and time is :

d = 2.5t

This is because the speed is constant at any given point of the journey.

Given that we do not have a time interval for the motion the graph is discreet.
