Jelly fish and star fish are not true fishes .To which group they belong to ?give their characteristic ?

Jelly fish belongs to phylum Cnidaria.

Characteristics of Cnidaria :

1) They are diploblastic, acoelomate having tissue level of organization.
2) They show radial symmetry.
3) They usually live in water and they have special appendages (tentacles) for their locomotion.
4) Some live in colony while other have solitary life span.
5) They have central cavity called gastrovascular cavity.

Starfish belongs to phylum Echinodermata.

Characteristics :

1) They are triploblastic, coelomate having unsegmented body.
2) They have radial symmetry.
3) They have spines covering their body.
4) They are free-living marine animals.
5) They have tube feet (podia) for their locomotion.
