Answer: Tie a string to a pole and hold the other end of the thread in your hand. Now by moving your hand up and down to make a wave like motion.

A wave is the propagation of disturbance from one place to another in a definite or proportionate manner without any extra disturbances.

We can take an example of the wave also by understanding the movement of the water when we throw a Pebble in it.

When we throw a Pebble in calm water, we can see waves originating in it in a circular motion, around the spot where we threw the pebble. The waves then start moving away from that spot and in the whole water body in the same manner.

This is also a good example of the propagation of wave.
