Answer:

The probability Jerry will pick a green straw is 5 out of 50 straws or 5/50

*if you simplify it, the answer would be 1 out 10 or 1/10

Given :  Jerry has a box of 50 colored drinking straws.

The box contains 10 red straws, 5 green straws, 20 yellow straws, and 15 purple straws.

he selects one straw without looking

To Find    probability that it will be green

Solution:

Red = 10

Green = 5

Yellow = 20

Purple = 15

Total = 50

Probability of selecting green  =  Green / total

= 5/50

= 1/10

= 0.1

probability that it will be green = 0.1
