Jetsun Pema became the Queen of the Asian Kingdom Bhutan following her marriage on October 13, 2011 with the king of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

During the ceremony, the Crown of the Druk Gyaltsuen was bestowed on Jetsun Pema by the king which finally announced her as the Queen of the Kingdom of Bhutan
