Answer:
Five Kingdom Classification :
The modern five kingdom classification of living organisms was proposed by R. H. Whittaker in 1969.
The five kingdoms are :
Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia.
Monera :
This Kingdom includes primitive, single-celled organisms. These organisms are characterised by absence of a a well-defined nucleus in their cells. They may be Autotrophic (blue-green algae) or Heterotrophic (bacteria) in their mode of nutrition.
Protista :
Unicellular organisms that have a well-defined nucleus are a part of Protista. Organisms in this Kingdom as well are either autotrophs (Euglena) or heterotrophs (Amoeba).
Fungi :
In this kingdom both unicellular and multicellular organisms are there. They are heterotrophs and mostly feed on organic matter. Different types of fungi such as yeast, bread moulds and mushrooms are a part of this kingdom.
Plantae :
This kingdom consists of green plants. Green plants are multicellular in nature. They are autotrophs as they can manufacture their own by the process of photosynthesis.
Animalia :
This Kingdom consists of all the animals in this world. Animals are multicellular in nature and they have a heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
