Photosynthesis is a process by which the plant prepare it's own food

The plants perform a process called "photosynthesis" in which, by the help of sunlight and the CO2 gas present in the air and water and minerals from soil.

This process starts from the roots from which the water and minerals are collected, the roots helps in transporting the water and minerals to the stem.

The stem then store the necessary stuff in it and releases when required.

The main part of plant which performs this process is the leaves of the plant,

the leaves then absorb the Carbon dioxide (CO2).

The leaf contains chlorophyll in it. The chlorophyll present in the leaf performs a cellular reaction in which the Water which is stored in the stem the comes and react with Carbon dioxide CO2 in presence of sunlight and forms glucose and oxygen.

WORD EQUATION:

Carbon + Water + Energy sunlight >

dioxide chlorophyll >

Glucose + Carbon + Water

dioxide

CHEMICAL EQUATION:

CO2 + H2O + ATP ---------->

C6 H12 O6 + CO2 + H2O
