7) when ethanol is heated in 443k , the following reaction takes place with the formation of ethene (unsaturated hydrocarbon) and water.
CH3CH2OH---H2SO4------> CH2-_-_ CH2+OH
So now if H2 is added with ethene in the presence of nickel catalyst saturated hydrocarbon namely ethane.
The role of H2SO4 in the above reaction was that it acts as a dehydrating agent.
8) When ethanol reacts with ethanoic acid it forms ester. The reaction is as follows,
CH3CH2OH+CH3COOH ------H2SO4--> CH3COOC2H5
It belongs to the class of compound namely organic compound (ester). Chemical name is methyl methanoate.
ii) H2SO4 acts as a catalyst which helps to proceed the reaction at a greater rate without the reaction itself getting effected.

Hey buddy...
Here's your answer...

7. Compound formed is ethene ( C2H4 ).
Conc. H2SO4 acts as a catalyst in this reaction.

8. The compound belongs to the carboxylic acid group.

Hope this helps you...
If it does plz mark as the BRAINLIEST...

SumaiyaAbeer: Thanks for marking as BRAINLIEST..
bishista: Hi! I just dropped in to say that ester does not belongs to the carboxylic group. Ethanoic acid does
SumaiyaAbeer: Ester also
bishista: I am afraid. But they don't as carboxylic acid has the following bond of cooh. But ester is a FUNCTIONAL GROUP itself as it has a bond of RCOOR
SumaiyaAbeer: Ok I'm sorry...I just confirmed it from my teacher ...
SumaiyaAbeer: It belongs to ESTER...
