Jiya has 16 toffees .Neha has x toffees less than Jiya (x is even). How many of her own toffees must Jiya give to Neha so that they both then have the same number of toffees?

=> Neha has = 16 - x   toffess

Let say Jiya give = y toffees

Then jiya  has  16 - y  toffees

& Neha has = 16 - x + y toffees

Both have same number of toffees

16 - x + y = 16 - y

=> 2y = x

=> y = x/2

Jiya must give x/2  toffees to Neha so that they both then have the same number of toffees
