6) long _answer question
a. what is condensation how is condition of gas carried out.
b) why do gases exert more pressure on the walls of the container than solids
c) liquids mix more slowly than gases why
d) explain why temperature remains constant during the interview conversation of state between the matter
Answers
Condensation of gas is carried out by storing it in a container and decreasing the temperature with increasing the pressure. Condensation is the conversion of gas into liquid state.
The particles of a gas move about randomly at very high speeds because of large spaces and very less attractive forces between them. Due to this the particles collide with each other and the walls of the container.
Diffusion can also happen in liquids. This is because the particles in liquids can move around each other, which means that eventually they are evenly mixed. Diffusion in liquids is slower than in gases because the particles in a liquid move more slowly.
The temperature remains constant during the change of state because the heat energy which is supplied to change the state of matter is used in breaking the intermolecular forces and other attractive forces. Hence the temperature remains constant as all the heat is used up and no external heat is released or absorbed.
Answer:
a.)Condensation of gas is carried out by storing it in a container and decreasing the temperature with increasing the pressure. Condensation is the conversion of gas into liquid state. ... In simple condensers, vapour formed as a result of boiling is cooled by outside air, converting it back to its liquid form.
b) Why do gases exert more pressure on the walls of the container than solids do? The particles of a gas move about randomly at very high speeds because of large spaces and very less attractive forces between them. Due to this the particles collide with each other and the walls of the container.
c) Diffusion can also happen in liquids. This is because the particles in liquids can move around each other, which means that eventually they are evenly mixed. ... Diffusion in liquids is slower than in gases because the particles in a liquid move more slowly.
d) When a substance undergoes interconversion then temperature of the substance remains constant. This is because heat supplied to the substance helps in breaking the crystal lattice of solid. Hence, all the molecules acquire same kinetic energy. So, there occurs no change in temperature.
