This is Jody’s Fawn
Through the story it is depicted that Jody was a brave and a sensitive boy, when his family abandoned a small fawn after it's mother's death, he was feeling very guilty.Even he tried his best, he kept thinking about the fawn and imagines hugging the fawn.
Jody felt that they had killed the doe because of their selfishness and because of this the fawn had been orphaned for no fault of its own. He kept thinking about the hungry and scared fawn.
After trying his best to forget the little fawn he finally decided to talk about this to his father and even urge for the permission to go in search for the fawn so that he can take care of it at home.
This clearly shows body's concern for the fawn which led him in search of it.
