Joe's present age = 22
Because Joe will be 24, 2 years from now.

6 years from now, Joe's age = 28
Joe's father's age = 2*28 = 56 years
Father's present age = 56 - 6 = 50 years....(i)

2 years ago, Joe's age = 20
Joe's mother's age = 2*joe's age = 40 years
Mother's present age = 40+2 = 42 years...(ii)
Difference between father's and mother's age = 50 - 42 = 8 years..[eq(i) & eq(ii)]
Hope it helps.
