Joel was given instructions to observe, measure and grade this sprinkler (see Figure 1). Holes need to be spaced 15mm apart, but the company can accept a 1mm allowance either way. Joel left his notes highlighting sections A and B. Examine Figure 1 and tell what you think your measurements of sections A and B would be (don’t use a ruler). Explain why you gave the answers you did.

You can see in the image that space B is bigger than space A, and the notes in space B say "+2" while space A says "-3". These notes could mean that Joel noticed that space B is 2mm bigger (and has to be reduced) and space A is 3mm smaller (and has to be increased).
