Joelle would like to tip her hairdresser 20%. If her haircut costs $38.00, which expression should she use to find the tip amount?

Just divide $38.00 by 5 to get 20% of the total cost, which is  $7.60

If you need to do this with other problems, just think how much of that percentage form the whole %100 and divide using that.

Ex : I just ate at a restaurant called La Casitas, I want to give 10% tip of the whole amount I paid for.

If 10% is one tenth of 100%, then you would divide by ten.
