John and 3 friends are going out for pizza for lunch. They split one pizza and 4 large drinks. The pizza cost $13.00. After using a $6.00 gift certificate, they spend a total of $13.20. Write an equation to model this situation, and find the cost of one large drink.

4d + $13.00 – $6.00 = $13.20; $1.60

4d + $13.00 – $6.00 = $13.20; $1.55

4d – $13.00 + $6.00 = $13.20; $6.73

3d + $13.00 – $6.00 = $13.20; $2.07

Answer:

x=1.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello! I think i may know the answer! WORK: ( Price of pizza 13.00) +( One large drink X) = (Total amount spent 13.20)

Equation: 13.00+4X -6= 13.20 So we are going to have to combine 13.00 - 6.00 getting, 77.00 + 4X = 13.20

Subtract 7.00 from both sides:

       7.00 + 4X = 13.20

      -7.00        -7.00

      ------------------

              4X =  6.00

Divide both sides by 4

              4x              6.00

            -------    =     --------

              4                     4

               X = $1.50

Hope this helps :)
