Given info : John and Jack are trying to pull a cart full of stones. they could displace the cart through a distance of 100 cm. force applying by them is 400 N.

To find : The work done by them is ..

solution : work done by them to displace the cart = force applied by them × displacement of cart

= 400 N × 100 cm

= 400 N × 1 m

= 400 Nm

= 400 J [ ∵ 1 Nm = 1 J]

Therefore the work done by them is 400 J. option (I) is correct choice.
