Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

It is said that John took a bus first and it took him 30 mins to reach the railway station. Then when he boarded the train, it took him more 55 mins to reach to the airport.

So,

Total time taken by John to reach the airport = Time taken by him to reach the railway station by bus + time taken by him to reach the airport by railway

= 30 + 55

= 85mins

= 1hour and 25mins.

Now, it is said that Mary left home 25mi s later than John and then she took a taxi and reached the airport 20mins earlier than John.

So,

Total time taken by Mary to reach the airport = Total time taken by John to reach the airport - 20mins

*Let the total time taken by Mary to reach the airport = x*

x = 1hr and 25mins - 20mins

x = 85mins - 20mins

x = 65mins

x = 1hr and 5mins

Therefore, it took Mary 1hr and 5mins, in the sence, 65mins to reach the airport.
