Answer:

Given:-

John bought 10 washing machines at 1,80,000, he spent 2,000 for transport if he sold each machines at 19,000 then what was his profit or loss?

To Find:-

His profit or loss amount.

Note:-

As transport price is also given with C.P. ( amount at things which are brought ) then it will be calculated for becoming real C.P.

When there is a profit then C.P. ( amount at which things are brought ) should be lower than S.P. ( amount at which things are sold ) ; When there is a loss then S.P. should be lower than C.P .

Profit = S.P. - C.P. ; Loss = C.P. - S.P.

Solution:-

[ First, we will take S.P. in 10 washing machines unit ]

We know that~

▪︎ 1 \ \ washing \ \ machine \ \ S.P. = ₹19,000

So~

▪︎ 10 \ \ washing \ \ machines \ \ S.P. = ₹19,000 × 10

▪︎ 10 \ \ washing \ \ machines \ \ S.P. = ₹1,90,000

_____________________________________________

[ We will calculate the transport price with C.P. for making real C.P. ]

According to note first point~

▪︎ Real \ \ C.P. = Transport \ \ price + C.P.

▪︎ Real \ \ C.P. = ₹2,000 + ₹1,80,000

▪︎ Real \ \ C.P. = ₹1,82,000

_____________________________________________

 \huge\red{Now, C.P. = ₹1,82,000; \ \ S.P. = ₹1,90,000}

According to note second point~

▪︎ C.P. \ \ □ \ \ S.P. = Profit \ \ or \ \ Loss \ \ ?

▪︎ ₹1,82,000 \ \ □ \ \ ₹1,90,000 = Profit \ \ or \ \ Loss \ \ ?

▪︎ ₹1,82,000 \ \ < \ \ ₹1,90,000 = Profit ✔ , Loss ✖

 \huge\pink{Hence, \ \ it \ \ is \ \ Profit}

_____________________________________________

[ Now, we will calculate Profit amount ]

 \huge\green{C.P. = ₹1,82,000; \ \ S.P. = ₹1,90,000}

 \huge\green{Profit \ \ amount = ?}

According to note third point~

▪︎ Profit \ \ amount = S.P. - C.P.

▪︎ Profit \ \ amount = ₹1,90,000 - ₹1,82,000

After doing calculations~

▪︎ Profit = ₹8,000

 \huge\pink{Profit = ₹8,000}

Answer:-

Hence,

  • The washing machine sold by John is Profit.
  • Profit amount is = 8,000.
