let John's age be x years, father's age be 5x years and sister's age me x/2 years.

so,
5x+2 + x+2=58
6x+4=58
6x=54
x=9
Hence John's present age is 9 years.

Hope it helps

143aditya143: John's father is 5 times older than John
F = 5J
:
John is twice as old as his sister Alice.
J = 2A
or
A = .5J
:
In two years time, the sum of their ages will be 58.
F+2 + J+2 + A+2 = 58
F + J + A + 6 = 58
F + J + A = 58 - 6
F + J + A = 52
:
How old is John now?
:
Substitute for F & A
5J + J + .5J = 52
6.5J = 52
J =
J = 8 yrs is John
143aditya143: alex age = 8 yrs
shimranpati05: dono ka nahi
shimranpati05: teeno ka age ka sum hai 58
shimranpati05: that too after 2 years....

Answer:Alex's age 8 yrs

John age 10 yrs

Father age 40 yrs

Step-by-step explanation:let Alex age x

Then John age x+2

Father age 5*x

x+x+2+5x=58
