Answer:

FIRST SUBTRACT 2/9 ACRES BY 5 ACRES

SO REMAINING AREA WILL BE OF 4.17 ACRES

NOW DIVIDE THE TOTAL REMAINING LAND BY 3 i.e., 4.17/3

THE ANSWER WILL BE 1.15 ACRES THAT EACH CHILD WILL GET.

The amount of land each of his children will get is 1.3 acres.

Given: Total area of land = 5 acres.

The portion was given to NGO = 2/9th of the land.

Number of children = 3

To Find: The amount of land each of his children will get.

Solution:

The Total area of land =  5 acres.

The portion given to NGO = 2/9th of the land = ( 2 / 9 ) × 5

                                                                            = 10/9 acres

Amount of land left = ( 5 - 10/9 ) acres

                                = 35/9 acres

Number of children = 3

So, each child gets = ( 35/9 ) ÷ 3 acres

                                = 35 / 27 acres

                                = 1.3 acres

Hence, the amount of land each of his children will get is 1.3 acres.
