John is approaching a stoplight moving with an initial velocity of 30.0 m/s. The light turns yellow, and
John applies the brakes and skids to a stop. If John’s decelerates in a rate of 8.00 m/s^2, then
determine the displacement of the car during the process.

v { }^{2}  -  {u}^{2}  = 2as
where
u= 30
v=0
a= -8
 { 30}^{2}  -  {0}^{2}  = 2 \times ( - 8) \times s
 - 900 =  - 16s \\ s = 900 \div 16 \\ s = 56.25m
