Let John buy the article at a cost C.
Peter buys it at (100+20)C/100 = 1.2 C
Peter sells to Mohan at = [ (100-5) /100 ] * 1.2 C = 0.95 * 1.2 C = 1.14 C
Mohan buys it for 1.14 C = Rs 912
C = Rs 912 / 1.14 = Rs 800
John paid Rs 800 for the article.
