John sold an article to Peter at 20 % profit, Peter sold it to Mohan at 5 % loss. If Mohan paid ₹912 for the article; find how muc did Joy pay for it ?

Profit % = 20%

Mohan

SP = Rs. 912

L% = 5%

therefore, CP = x

Loss = 5x / 100

Equation -

5x/100 = x - 912

912 = x - 5x/100

912 = 95x/100

x = 912*100/95

x = Rs. 960

If CP of Mohan is Rs. 960,

Then SP of john = Rs.960

Profit % of john = 20%

Therefore cp = x

Equation -

20x/100 = 960 - x

20x/100 + x = 960

120x/100 = 960

x = 960*100/120

x = 800

Therefore jhon pays Rs.800.
